Challenge

What if we could design an app that catered to the whims of the subscribers and became an indispensable ally for movie distributors and exhibitors?

Goal

Our ambition was to do more than redesign the MoviePass app; we aimed to revolutionize the cinematic landscape. We envisioned an app that would become a nexus of personalization, discovery, and functionality, completely transforming the movie-going experience for subscribers. For distributors and studios, we sought to craft a platform to turn raw data into powerful insights and offer robust promotional tools. For exhibitors, our goal was to streamline customer service, making every interaction effortless and efficient. Essentially, we were not just creating an app but building a catalyst for industry-wide transformation.

Result

The MoviePass project, despite its eventual downfall, was a transformative journey. The redesigned app offered an immersive experience for subscribers and valuable tools for distributors and exhibitors.

While unsuccessful in the long term, this prolific venture provided invaluable lessons about user needs, sustainable business models, and market adaptability. These insights have been instrumental in shaping my approach to design and creative direction and continue to influence my work today.
